History of School
Cherokee Point Elementary was one of 12 new schools funded by Proposition MM. We are located in City Heights at 3735 38th Street, one of San Diego's fastest growing neighborhoods. Our campus features 32 classrooms which can accommodate 700 students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth grade. We opened in September 2005, and our site dedication ceremony took place in October 2005. Our mascot is the Cheetah.
The name "Cherokee Point" was selected by the community. It is the name of the surrounding neighborhood area, in which the streets create the shape of an arrowhead.
